A few weeks ago, Ducati announced that it will be offering a naked version of its 848 super bike, a fact that we were all excited about. But despite knowing that it will come out in January, we didn’t know much of anything about the stripped bike.
But today Ducati has changed that for us, announcing that if you want to buy the small Streetfighter, it will set you back $12,995. We also learned that Ducati adapted some of the frame technology from its more-serious 848EVO and applied it to the Trellis frame on the streetfigher. Where you’ll mainly see this is in the new swing arm and front forks, though it’s not a carbon copy of the EVO’s framework. This should mean a much easier-riding bike when compared to the EVO, on top of the smooth ride thanks to the Testastretta 11° engine we already knew about.
Speaking of that engine, we also now know that it will make 132 horsepower, and 69 lb-ft of torque. And those three colors? They follow the breaking of tradition the new 1199 Panigale introduced last week, and now have a name: Ducati Red, Dark Stealth, and Fighter Yellow.
As ever, if we find more information about the bike, we’ll be sure to pass it along, and will give you our riding impressions the instant we can get our hands on one of these new bikes.
