The business of selling cars is an international affair, becoming even more so each day. One of the problems this poses is making sure that everyone is on the same page at all times. Keeping each different market consistent in the disclosure of new information can be difficult, from the nuances of drivetrain details, or as simple as whether or not certain information should be given out at all, can prove to be a daunting task.
Mercedes-Benz is feeling the effects of such a global operation this morning, with pictures of the facelifted CL-Class being leaked out on the Dutch version of their corporate site. Upon close inspection we notice a new, more aggressive grille, LED foglights, new headlamps, and a new front bumper.
It’s worth mention that this new CL will probably be one of the first updated models to use Mercedes-Benz’s new twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 435 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The CL63 AMG version, which was also leaked, will probably also sport a new V8 producing 571 hp and a downright devilish 666 lb-ft. Both the CL600 and the CL65 AMG V12 variants may go on unchanged, but with the V8s making such prodigious power, we have to wonder how much life is left in the big 12-pots.
Official announcements are expected to be made at the Paris Auto Show. Keep an eye out here for coverage in October.
