Mercedes-Benz has announced US pricing for the new SLK350, the CLS550, and the CLS63 AMG models that are new for the 2012 model year. As you’ll see, there are no surprises here. The new third-generation SLK goes on sale just in time for summer at a price of $54,800. That’s right smack dab in the middle of competition including the BMW Z4 and the Porsche Boxster, and that price gets a 3.5-liter, 302 hp V6 plus a good set of standard equipment. Options like navigation and the new magic tint-changing glass roof will cost extra, though a full price breakdown hasn’t been announced yet.
The new second-generation CLS-class will again come in two flavors for US customers, both packing V8s with pairs of turbochargers. The CLS550, packing a 4.6-liter twin-turbo eight with 402 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, will start at $71,300, continuing a heathy split between E- and S-class pricing. An AMG model, the CLS63, uses the tuning arm’s new 5.5-liter with 518 hp and 516 lb-ft. It’ll cost $94,900, which should help keep it fairly exclusive.
All the above pricing excludes destination and delivery charges, which add an additional $875.
