With the Gallardo soon on its way out, Lamborghini is still making spinoffs of its most successful model yet. And since Lamborgini is in LA this week, its made a convertible out of the most stripped out version of the little bull yet.
Dubbed the Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder, this car is essentially a rag-top version of the Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni. And, as Lamborghini nomenclature goes, you can see that like the Balboni, the car is pushed around by its rear wheels only. Also hinted at by the name is the output of the V10 engine, which is longitudinally mounted, and puts out 550 horsepower. This power means the car can get up to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds, top up or down.
No word yet on release date or price, but we’re inclined to believe that this is intended to be a swan song of sorts for the Gallardo.
