Triumph Announces 2011 Sprint GT
Sport touring bikes straddle the line between all-out crotch rockets and comfort-focused touring bikes. Triumph's take on the concept, the Sprint, gets some significant changes for 2011 in the form of the Sprint GT.
The new grand touring model uses an update version of the company's 1050cc three-cylinder engine, making 130 horsepower in GT trim. Styling has likewise been updated, but retains the Sprint's distinctive three-lamp design on the nose.
The cockpit includes a three-gauge cluster containing an analog tach and speedo, wile the third position is filled with a digital multi-function gauge for fuel range and economy, trip timer and distance, and average speed. The Sprint GT also includes a pair of 31-liter hard saddle bags and is available with an optional top box that can hold two full-size helmets. A 12-volt charging socket makes for on-the-road charging of electrical items, such as cell phones, as well as for powering heated riding gear.
The 2011 Sprint GT will be available this fall, starting at $13,199 with standard ABS brakes.
