BMW M Bike Combines Technology and Design
BMW has a long tradition of co-branding great bicycles that complement its automotive lineup, and the latest one finally wears an M badge. BMW's M Bike features design details that should be familiar to any M3 owner: front and rear disc brakes, leather seat with red inserts, and a matte anthracite chassis. Shimano's SLX gear system shifts the 21-speed bike, which also uses a front suspension fork from Manitou Match.
The aluminum-framed BMW M Bike is made for road use, and comes in three frame sizes — 46, 51 or 55 cm. Total weight of the bike is 28.4 pounds (12.9 kg). It will be available in limited quantities starting in June at select BMW retail centers, or online at www.bmw-shop.com. No price has been announced, but we'd expect something in the $3000 range, which makes it the cheapest M vehicle you can buy.
