Every year, to celebrate Carnival, thousands of Volkswagen and Audi fans flock to the lake of Wörthersee to celebrate the cars they love so much. And every year, for some time now, Audi and Volkswagen have had a formal presence right there in the thick of it.

This year was no different, with 2010 being the year of the A1. Audi dreamt up some interesting concepts for its new small hatchback and paraded them out with models dressed to fit each theme. The A1 does look pretty good in a variety of different styles, we have to say, with Audi choosing a lifeguard patrol car, a hot rod, an airport transport, and a soccer hooligan as fitting roles for its now smallest offering.



Volkswagen certainly wasn't to be shown up though, bringing out two design studies for its popular sixth-generation GTI, the Adidas and Excessive editions.



But it wasn't all about the corporate sponsors either, with the Austrian enthusiasts showcasing their typical out-there creations.
