Walter Rohrl to Contest Nurburgring 24 Hours in Stock Porsche 911 GT3 RS

It's a bit hard to believe, but Porsche test driver Walter Rohrl hasn't competed in the 24 Hours of Nurburg since 1993. This is despite the fact that since that year, the insanely capable driver has tested each and every new Porsche model on the Nordschleife. To say the guy knows the track is one hell of an understatement.

Rohrl seems happy to be making up for lost time with the new GT3 RS. "Right from the word go, the new 911 GT3 RS reminded me of a race vehicle," Rohrl says," No other road-going 911 has ever been as close to a race car as this current GT3 RS." The race takes place on May 15 and 16 of this year. In its 38th running, the 24 hours race is expected to attract more than 200,000 spectators.

If you've somehow never heard of Walter or doubt his skills, please catch up with the class by watching the video embedded below.
