Nearly 1,000 Photos From Carlisle Import Nationals Live
The Import and Kit Car Nationals in Carlisle, Pennsylvania always proves to be one of the bigger shows of the early car show season, and this year certainly did not disappoint. The Carlisle Fairgrounds were packed with cars this weekend, making the show feel busier than we can remember from recent years.
There was a lot to drool over, especially for the European auto enthusiast. Browsing up and down the aisles, you could find everything from a Mercedes-Benz W100 600 to a Saab-engined Ultima GTR. Even if you wandered away from the main the field and into a small building by the grandstands, an incredible private collection of rare and vintage BMWs contained a pristine M1, a 2002tii Turbo, and a 635CSi.
More modern stuff was on display, as well, with Audi of North America bringing a TTRS from across the pond, as well as a brand new A8 to show off to the masses. Audi also pulled a 1984 homologation-special Sport Quattro from its heritage collection in order to show the roots of modern Quattro sportscars like the TTRS.
All in all, the show had a great turnout while still maintaining its laid back nature, and the weather was beautiful, considering there was a threat of rain all day Saturday. We look forward to going back next year, and will make sure to have our cameras in hand once again.
