LA Auto Show: 2011 BMW ActiveHybrid 7 Pricing Announced

BMW has already announced pricing for the "most powerful hybrid in the world," the ActiveHybrid X6, but it still has one more gas/electric debut to deal with, the ActiveHybrid 7. The main marketing difference is the insertion of the word "sedan" into that tagline above. Because it's a mild hybrid, the 7 doesn't have quite the same punch as the two-mode X6. It uses the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, but with a conventional eight-speed automatic and an electric motor squeezed in between.

The car, which will start at $103,125 for a short-wheelbase and $107,025 for a long-wheelbase model, comes loaded up with a decent standard feature list. These features include 19-inch wheels and tires, Alcantara headliner, leather dashboard and ventilated active front seats. The Premium Sound System, Head-up Display and Rear View Camera are also standard on the ActiveHybrid 7 as are Comfort Access, Soft-close doors and Automatic trunkgate closing. Additional options are listed below. The car still has some time before it arrives, with an on-sale date of Spring 2011.
