Audi e-tron Concept, R8 Spyder Visit LA With New Paint

Like some other manufacturers who didn't have genuine reveals at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi chose to show up with some of its Frankfurt show cars. Unlike some others, Audi went through the effort of slipping them back into the paint booth first.

Still in concept form but supposedly confirmed for a limited-run production in a few years, the Audi e-tron concept ditched it's bright red Frankfurt paint for a retina-burning orange hue. Some might even call it electric orange, which fits its wild powertrain, which consists of an electric motor behind each of the four wheels. It still looks good, and it may preview what the R8 might look like if Audi ditches the side blades next time around.

Speaking of R8s without side blades, the R8 Spyder made another appearance at LA wearing a red exterior. At Frankfurt, you may recall, the show car was white. The interior was slightly different, too, with contrast stitching and Alcantara center sections on the seats. See more in the gallery to the right.
