Audi will unveil its next-generation A3 compact in a couple months at the Geneva Motor Show. We'll have to wait a while to see what it looks like (though this should give us all a clue), but for now we can at least see inside of it.

In las Vegas this week, professional tech geeks will be camped out in Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show, the annual convention that dictates what new gadgets everyone will be lining up for next Christmas. The automotive industry has taken advantage of the unique audience (mostly industry people and journalists) in recent years to show off the latest in-car electronics and accessories they've developed. Fortunately for us, Audi is there to promote its new modular infotainment platform.

The highlight of the system is the brilliant, hi-res 7-inch color display that rises like a newly-minted iPad from the center of the dashboard. Another piece on display is the Audi Phone Box, a universal interface between a cell phone and the car. While the electronics are certainly cool, we appreciate a glimpse at the inside of the new A3. The dash looks to continue Audi's clean, minimalist aesthetic.
