TechArt Sets Porsche Cayenne Top Speed Record, Barely Misses 200 MPH
It's never fun coming in second to anyone. It's so close to winning, yet so far away. And it just happened to Techart, whose 680-hp Porsche Cayenne Turbo would be the fastest SUV on the planet if it weren't for the Brabus GLK V12, which not only took the title but also passed the 200 mph mark for the first time in an SUV. To be fair, the Techart Cayenne is the fastest SUV in the world with its basic engine intact--Mercedes-Benz doesn't and never will sell a GLK600.
Techart has made lemonade out of those Brabus-delivered lemons, however, issuing a press release about the fastest Porsche Cayenne ever built. They even claim that the 321.2 km/h top speed is "respectively 200 mph," but it just misses the big deuce-double-zero by 0.6 mph. This special Cayenne features Techart's full array of visual and mechanical enhancements and makes 130 hp more than the stock truck. Its "sport" air suspension module makes the Cayenne slippery, giving it some added aerodynamic help on the long Nardo circuit. Congrats to Techart, a company who must now be seeking to top Brabus.
